Family Camping Weekend
September 3-6, 2010

WHO CAN ATTEND FAMILY CAMPING WEEKEND?
If any member of your family is registered with the Boy Scouts of America, your entire family (regardless of age) can attend Family Camping Weekend.

WHAT IS FAMILY CAMPING WEEKEND?
Family Camping Weekend is a council-organized camping activity that involves Scouts from all over Georgia.  It is your opportunity to spend time at beautiful Lawhorn Scouting Base, Georgia's finest Boy Scout camp.  Spend the weekend with your entire family participating in all kinds of Scouting fun or just sit, rock, and relax or take a family hike.  Laswhorn Scouting Base is near Molena, GA, in Upson County - a short drive to many other entertaining activities for your family.

WHEN IS IT?
Family Camping Weekend begins on Friday, September 3rd and concludes on Monday, September 6th.  You may check-in on Friday evening from 5pm until 10pm or on Saturday from 8am until 11am.

WHAT WILL WE DO AT CAMP?
Activities will include:
* Art Activity
* Outdoor games
* BB shooting & archery
* Canoeing & Fishing on Mark's Pond
* Guided hikes to Moss Falls
* Family Hikes
* Campfire & More!
* PLUS, tubing and canoeing trips on the Flint River for an additional fee.

COST? - HOW MUCH DOES THE WEEKEND COST?
If you register and pay before August 26, the fee for the entire family is $18.00.  If you register after August 26, the fee is $28.00.  The fee on the day of the event is $38.  Camping is available in your personal tent or our camp tents.  Camp tents are available on a first-come, first-served basis for those who request it with the camping department.

HOW ABOUT MEALS?
Meals are on your own, but our Trading Post will be open for snacks.  Also, a special grilled dinner will be available for purchase on Sunday night at the Grand Pavilion.  Campfire rings are located in each group campsite.  Adults may use personal camp stoves for cooking - BSA policy on the use of fuels must be followed.
